Patek Philippe | New Collection 2023
Patek Philippe has unveiled a wide selection of new models, ranging from a Calatrava with an original 24-hour display and a Travel Time function for the display of a second-time zone, to a new haute joaillerie version of the Grandmaster Chime, and the first Annual Calendar to enter the ladies' Aquanaut Luce collection, renowned for its modern casual chic.
Introducing the Patek Philippe Grand Complications 6300/403G. Once again they have pushed the boundaries of Haute Horlogerie and Haute Jaoillerie by creating a luxurious wristwatch that exudes sheer elegance. This stunning timepiece is a new addition to their collection of Grandmaster Chimes, the most complicated watch by Patek Philippe.
Presented in an opulent white gold version, adorned with 118 baguette-cut emeralds weighing 7.87 carats and 291 baguette-cut diamonds weighing 20.54 carats, utilizing the "invisible setting" technique. The watch boasts an impressive twenty complications, including five acoustic functions, with two world-exclusive patents: an alarm sounding the programmed time and a date-repeater striking the date at will.
The watch's reversible double-sided case features a patented swivel mechanism that allows it to be worn with either dial visible. The time side is embellished with an ebony black opaline dial, displaying gold-applied Breguet numerals, while the calendar side is adorned with a matching ebony black opaline dial. The case itself measures 49.4mm in diameter and 16.32mm in height, providing the perfect canvas for the 96 baguette-cut emeralds that adorn the pieces side, as well as the 291 baguette-cut diamonds that are set on the bezel of the calendar side and the case. The watch is completed with a fold-over clasp set with emeralds, securing the alligator leather strap with square scales, hand-stitched with a shiny black finish.
This exceptional timepiece is accompanied by a set of white-gold cufflinks, featuring a row of baguette-cut emeralds, making it an unparalleled example of Haute Horlogerie and Haute Joaillerie. Introducing the Aquanaut Luce Annual Calendar Ref: 5261R-001. For the very first time, Patek Philippe has introduced the Annual Calendar feature to the Aquanaut collection and has done so with a ladies' watch, reflecting the brand's commitment to meeting the evolving demands of the modern women who seek uncompromising quality and exquisite craftsmanship in their timepieces. Patek Philippe understands that women today also appreciate complications, and over the past few years, an increased number of advanced Aquanaut Luce models have been introduced to the collection.
In keeping with the timeless tradition of understated luxury, the watch resists the use of diamonds or gemstones, instead allowing its flawless design and craftsmanship to speak for itself. The watch's sleek lines, coupled with its fine rose gold finish, serve to accentuate its unparalleled sophistication.
The signature rounded octagonal bezel is beautifully accentuated with a vertical satin-brushed finish and a wide polished bezel that is replicated throughout the 18k rose gold case. The captivating blue-grey dial is embossed with the signature Aquanaut "grenade" pattern and features applied rose gold numerals, baton-style hour and minute hands, and five-minute plots on the minute track which are all treated with white luminescent coating for enhanced legibility. Instead of the usual combination of the moon phase and date combination at the six o'clock position, Patek Philippe has added a subtle twist with an inversion of the annual calendar module. This delightful modification results in the moon phase moving to the noon mark, while the month and day dials swap positions and the date window remains at the six o'clock position.
The new Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce Annual Calendar ref. 5261R-001 boasts a remarkable in-house Caliber 26-330 S QA LU automatic movement. As with all annual calendars, the Patek Philippe Cal. 26-330 S QA LU effortlessly accounts for the varying number of days in each month, requiring only one adjustment per annum, at the end of February. The 319-component masterpiece, adorned with 34 jewels, hums to a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz), providing a substantial 45-hour power reserve when fully wound. The timepiece is secured to the wrist by a luxurious blue-grey rubber strap, which complements the dial's warm rose gold tone, and is fastened by an 18k rose gold folding clasp that bears the Aquanaut collection's signature pattern.
The new model from Patek Philippe represents a departure from tradition, as it is the first complex model in the collection without a gem-set bezel, marking a refreshing change in direction for the Aquanaut Luce collection.
Introducing the latest addition to the Calatrava collection, the new Calatrava 6007G. With black backgrounds, pops of colour and a newer movement, these three timepieces are displaying a move towards a more exuberant side of Patek Philippe.
Crafted from premium white gold, the 6007G watches boast a polished finish and a wide bezel, expertly designed to accentuate the watch's sleek curves. With a diameter of 40mm and a slim profile of just 9.17mm, this timepiece can be worn comfortably on the wrist with effortless style. The pull-out crown, adorned with the iconic Patek Philippe logo, adds a touch of opulence, while the 30 metre water resistance ensures that the watch is as practical as it is aesthetically pleasing.
The leather straps are adorned with a striking "carbon" motif, embossed with meticulous attention to detail, and are complemented by contrasting stitching that perfectly matches the vibrant hues of the dial. It's a rare sight to see a such seamless match of the dial and the strap, but Patek Philippe has done so confidently.
The dials are a true work of art, featuring pops of bold yellow, blue and red against a textured black backdrop. The outer minute track evokes the tachymeter of tracks of racing chronographs while the applied Arabic numerals, enhanced with luminescent material, add a touch of sporty flair to this Calatrava design. The unobtrusive date display replaces the 3 o'clock numeral, and a thin grooved ring encircles the dial centre, adorned with colourful arrows at each hour, pointing inwards towards a stamped carbon pattern. The polished hour and minute hands coated with lume and colour-matched seconds hands, enhance the watch's visual appeal and functionality.
Powering these watches is the state-of-the-art Calibre 26-330 S C, which delivers unparalleled precision and performance. The sapphire case back showcases the watch's exceptional finishing, while the solid gold rotor adds an extra touch of luxury. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts a power reserve of up to 45 hours, thanks to Patek Philippe's patented Spiromax balance spring, which is highly resistant to temperature and shock.
