Specifically engineered for riders of the TUDOR Pro Cycling Team, TUDOR is unveiling a brand new Pelagos FXD model: a cycling-themed chronograph designed with light weight and functionality in mind. Featuring a carbon composite case equipped with a high-performance Manufacture Calibre, this watch embodies the daring spirit of a team competing in some of the most challenging cycling races around the world, including, from 2024, the Giro d’Italia.

Professional cycling is not for the faint-hearted. Riders are pushed to their limits with every pedal stroke, facing incredible dangers. A watch designed for professional cycling must endure the sport's extreme demands and be user-friendly. Carbon fibre, known for its use in the fastest bikes, is used in TUDOR’s new chronograph case, complemented by titanium elements for robustness. This ensures the watch can withstand cycling’s unpredictable conditions.

Beyond durability, the watch is designed to be practical for riders. Unlike typical tachymetric scales calibrated for cars, the “Cycling Edition” scale suits cyclists’ speeds. The chronograph scale is spiralled around the dial, allowing cyclists to read their average speeds at a glance. The Pelagos FXD Chrono “Cycling Edition” is specifically tailored for cycling.

The matte black dial with red accents prioritises legibility and echoes the TUDOR Pro Cycling Team colours. The distinctive square hour markers and “Snowflake” hands, created by TUDOR in the sixties to provide larger luminous surfaces for enhanced legibility, are made from luminescent ceramic composite to ensure optimal readability in challenging conditions. Encircling the dial, a re-calibrated tachymeter scale is printed on a 45°-angled rehaut, with its inner ring tailored to the speeds at which cyclists ride.

The single-piece fabric strap is a signature feature of TUDOR which, in 2010, became one of the first watchmaking brands to include it with its watches. Woven in France on 19th-century Jacquard looms by the Julien Faure company in the St-Etienne region, the strap boasts exceptional manufacturing quality, robustness, and comfort. For the Pelagos FXD models, TUDOR and Julien Faure developed a highly technical strap construction. Comprising a 22mm solid black jacquard-woven technical fabric and a traditional buckle, it is ideal for cycling.

The Pelagos FXD Chrono is powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5813, offering hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, and date functions. It features TUDOR's signature matte finish and a tungsten openwork monobloc rotor. With a 70-hour power reserve and a silicon balance spring, the COSC-certified Calibre MT5813 exceeds chronometer standards with a daily variation of -2 to +4 seconds. Crafted with a column wheel mechanism and vertical clutch, it ensures high performance and reliability. Derived from the Breitling 01 chronograph, this movement includes a high-precision regulating organ developed by TUDOR, showcasing the robust collaboration between the two brands.
